Notre Dame Du Mont Carmel Parish- Madawaska, Maine
Built in 1909, the Musée Culturel du Mont-Carmel is one of the oldest wooden catholic churches in the area. Official Catholic services stopped in 1978. The location of the church is in an area originally settled by the Acadians, giving it a very long cultural history. Since 1984, the church has been converted into a museum and arts center. Currently, it holds Maine's largest collection of religious items, artifacts, and folk art.
